Electronics drawer inventory for cables, chargers, and adapters
An electronics drawer inventory is a short record of the cables, chargers, and adapters you keep in a drawer: a photo you recognize, a name you would search for, and the exact drawer, pouch, or bin. In TadaTuck for iPhone, you save those three details as you put each item away. Next time, you search your saved records instead of emptying the drawer.
You don't need a spreadsheet. You don't need to record every cable you own.

The drawer that eats chargers
You open the drawer for the USB-C laptop charger. Three black cables that look almost the same come out first. The travel adapter might be in there too, or still in a pouch from the last trip.
"Somewhere in the drawer" is too little to go on when you're in a hurry. A short record of the few items you keep mixing up gives the next search a place to start.
02
Record three things, not the whole house
For the cables that matter, save three details.
A photo you can recognize
Before the charger goes back in the drawer, take a photo for its record. Get the plug end, the brick, or the printed label in frame if that's what sets it apart from the cable next to it. You're the one who will recognize it later, so photograph what you'd look for.
You can also add an item by hand. On-device recognition, or Cloud AI if you choose to use it, can help fill in the details. Check them before you save.
A name you'd actually type later ("USB-C laptop charger", not "cable")
Use the words you'll think of next time. "USB-C laptop charger", "EU travel adapter", or "spare Lightning cable" are easier to find than "cable". TadaTuck searches the records you saved, by name, category, or location, so the name matters.
A place you'd open ("Desk, bottom drawer, fabric pouch")
"Electronics" is too broad. You could write the location as "Desk, bottom drawer, fabric pouch", and you'll know which thing to open. In TadaTuck you organize items by storage spaces you name yourself, so use the names you already use at home.
03
Start with the item you hunted last week
Pick one item you looked for recently: the charger you grabbed before a meeting, the adapter before a trip, the spare cable that never seemed to be the right one. Photograph it, name it, save the drawer. Add a few more as you put them away.
The first goal is small. Leave yourself somewhere to look next time. The same habit with a single travel adapter is on Where did I put it?
04
When you move a cable, update the record
If a charger moves to your bag or to another drawer, update its saved location when you put it down. A record is useful when it reflects where you last put the item.
TadaTuck searches what you have recorded. It can't find a cable you never saved, and it won't know you moved one until you update it.
If you were about to start a spreadsheet of cables, home inventory without a spreadsheet covers when a photo and a place answer the question better than rows and columns. For the basics, see what is a home inventory app?
05
Travel adapters and the same habit
Adapters leave the drawer and come back. When one goes into a bag, change its location to the bag or pouch it's in now. When you unpack, change it back to the drawer. For the packing side of this, see travel bag inventory. For boxes during a move, see moving box inventory.
A FEW GOOD QUESTIONS
FAQ
Do I need to photograph every cable I own?
No. Start with the few you keep losing or mistaking for each other.
Can the app tell identical black cables apart?
You rely on your photo and the name you give it. TadaTuck searches the records you saved. It does not identify every cable on its own without your input.
Is this the same as a packing list?
No. It's a photo and place record for belongings you choose to save.
Do I need Cloud AI?
No. Manual entry or on-device recognition is enough for this habit. If you use Cloud AI to help fill in details, review them before relying on them.
Where are records stored?
On your device by default. Pro users can choose to enable iCloud sync.
