A travel bag inventory for the little things you pack

The adapter. The spare cable. The card reader you only need when you are away.

Once they disappear into different pouches, it helps to have a record of what went where. TadaTuck lets you keep photos of your belongings with the places you save for them.

Before packing

Find it at home. Then give it a place in your bag.

Packing can start with a search before the suitcase is even open. Where did the travel adapter go after the last trip?

A saved home location gives you somewhere to look. Once you take the adapter out and pack it, update its location to match the bag or pouch it is now in.

The useful detail is the change: it was in the study drawer; now it is in your travel bag.

As you pack

Record things as you pack them

  1. Start with a few things

Choose a small group of things you want to keep track of. Create a storage space for the bag, then add the items as you pack them.

  2. Save a useful location

Keep your location names practical. A name such as “Carry-on, cable pouch” is easier to act on than “travel stuff.” Use the storage spaces and item locations to reflect your own arrangement.

  3. Check the actual bag

Look over the saved records before you close the bag. Check them against what is physically inside. The record reflects what you entered; it does not check the contents for you.

Before heading home

Give the small things one more look before you leave

At the end of a trip, look up the things you recorded and check the room, outlet, and bag as you put them away.

When you unpack at home, update the locations again. Next time you need the adapter, the record can point you back to its usual drawer.

For the part that happens before packing, see remembering where you put things at home.

A few good questions

Questions you might have

Is this a packing checklist?

It is a photo record of the belongings you save and where you put them. You can review it while packing and compare it with the bag yourself.

Does TadaTuck automatically know what is in my suitcase?

No. You add the items and save their locations. Keep those locations updated as things move.

Can I record just my cables and adapters?

Yes. Start with the small group of belongings you want to look up later. You do not need to begin with every item in your luggage.

What should I do after unpacking?

Update each item's saved location to its place at home. This keeps the record useful for the next trip.

A photo. A place.
